The
location-base social app is ready to get its hands dirty with some money by
allowing promoted location-based updates. Much like Twitter’s Promoted Tweets,
Foursquare will have “Promoted Updates.” During this pilot, many large
companies have already been involved including Hilton, BestBuy and Walgreeens.
The way it works is if you are located next to a company that has a promoted
update then it would auto-update with promotions from that company. Do you
think this is a good idea or bad idea in regards to more advertising on your
social sites?
