Employee Buy In on Social Media

Many companies of all sizes are trying to understand and figure out social media strategies. In fact, at sat in a boardroom this morning with marketing team of nine (company has 1000+ employees) discussing the future trends of social media and some best practices. A new article from Social Media Today discuss “Employee Buy Ins” and how you can use that as a strategy. It’s more than your corporate identity online but everyone at your business represents the brand. My mom use to say when I left the house, “Don’t do anything dumb because you represent us and this family.” Even in the personal lives of the employees, they represent the company. Why should it be any different online? Work with your employees and figure out a way for them to get involved. Make sure they have a LinkedIN and it’s connected to your LinkedIN Profile. Have them get involved on Facebook and Twitter. There buy-in will mean much more in the long run.
