People Are Watching On Social Media, Be Smart

Last week’s media field day regarding the likes and dislikes of major fast-food chicken chain Chick-Fil-A was overwhelming to many. Social Media played a huge role at the center of the controversy, which found Chick-Fil-A COO Dan Cathy and his support of “traditional marriage.” Actors and Hollywood likes ran to Twitter to boycott the major chain while former governor Mike Huckabee called for a Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day through Facebook. In fight towards the appreciation day, equality activist called for a “Kiss-In” on Friday which led to a CFO of a medical company videoing himself at a Chick-Fil-A drive-thru and being negative towards the young girl at the window. He then posted his video to YouTube that resulted in him getting fired from his company. Social Media has become such a large part of our communication and our ability to be on top of “trending” topics.
