Measuring Twitter Engagement

During in Interview that Buzzfeed conducted with former CEO of Twitter, Evan Williams they talked about Twitter’s inability to report engagement. Most people gage their Twitter success on how many followers they have but the questions came up about the actual Interactive Users. Williams quickly answered that it’s not even about the Active Users but the users that actually see your tweet. Out of your 1000 followers, you may have 600 who are active all the time but when you post a tweet, only 150 may see the tweet. This is an area that Twitter really needs to focus on if they want a shot at true advertising analytics. Williams who still holds a Board of Directors position is working on a new start-up that will focus on engagement and analytics.
