Aggregator Vs Own App

Radio stations in this country have been turning to the aggregators to be listened too. Aggregators include major apps like iHeartRadio, the Clear Channel owned aggregator, TuneIN and more. Some radio stations believe that because apps like TuneIN are free that there is no need for a branded station app. Jacobs Media’s TechSurvey8 concluded that there is still a need for a internal app especially in CCM. Although Pandora leads in all other radio genres, Station apps led in CCM radio. So if you are considering not creating new apps for your station and sticking with the aggregators, think again because your listeners want to be engaged with more then just a stream.
